6th Annual Garden Party at Cadillac Urban Gardens

Every year, we celebrate our accomplishments and the supporters who make everything happen. Our 6th Annual Garden Party Happy Hour fundraiser event will be held on August 1, 2019. We invite you to enjoy a night full of entrepreneurial chefs, craft wines and beers, an exciting raffle, friendly faces, and live entertainment located at our youth-led Cadillac Urban Gardens (4601 Merritt St, Detroit, MI 48209). This event is open to the public.
At the 2018 Garden Party Happy Hour, we hosted 200 individuals and businesses in great food and fun! We were able to raise enough funds to support a full-time staff member who coordinated over 100 volunteers throughout the last year and accomplished a total of 1,000 hours of hands-on environmental work throughout all of southwest Detroit. Some of our current projects include:
Implementing compatible land reuse projects with residents and corporate partners. Including the development of the Cadillac Urban Garden and Scarcyny Park in partnership with Ideal Group, Americorps and Grow Detroit’s Young Talent Program through the City of Detroit.
Healthy Business program. Helping dozens of companies to implement pollution reduction projects. Some successes have included tree plantings to reduce fugitive dust and rain garden installations to improve aesthetics and reduce flooding.
Eliminating air pollution in Southwest Detroit by reducing diesel emissions from heavy-duty trucks.
