Detroit opens 5 cooling centers to shield residents from high temperatures
To help residents stay cool with temperatures reaching 90s daily this week, Detroit is opening cooling centers throughout the city. Two of the five centers are located in southwest Detroit.

It is my pleasure to announce Raquel Garcia as the new Executive Director of Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision. Raquel joins SDEV from Global Detroit, where, since 2014, she has been Director of Housing and Special Projects.
Every year, we celebrate our accomplishments and the supporters who make everything happen. Our 6th Annual Garden Party Happy Hour fundraiser event will be held on August 1, 2019.
