Day of The Dead

In the heart of Southwest Detroit, Environmental Justice organizations gathered to celebrate culture and raise awareness about the harms of air pollution in and around Southwest Detroit. Speakers shared personal stories of how families have suffered due to pollution, the loss of loved ones, and the impact simple legislative changes could have on health. Leaders led a march around Clark Park, while organizers offered traditional foods, taught sugar skull painting, and set up an ofrenda with photos near a tree in the park.

Beehive Collective

On July 14, 2024, Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision worked with partner Garage Cultural and others to host the Beehive Collective for a hands-on intergenerational storytelling event with over 100 people attending!
